  • Patent number: 4773499
Abstract: A vehicle having a fore-and-aft body including transversely spaced apart side walls or supports carries between the supports a forkless steerable wheel and axle structure arranged in conjunction with right and left force-exerting means so that on right-hand turns the wheel is steered about an upright right-hand axis and on the left-hand turns is steered about a left-hand axis. The arrangement, by dispensing with typical fork structure, provides for steering movement such that the wheel moves laterally away from the side wall opposite to the direction in which the wheel is steered.

  • Patent number: 4733742
Abstract: A two-wheeled, self-propelled and steerable vehicle especially designed for travel over varying terrain, including pavement, rough and rocky ground, under brush and areas dotted with water. The vehicle has a fore-and-aft body supported on front and rear wheels, both of which are steerable in unison in what may be termed articulated fashion as distinguished from so-called crab steering. Each of the wheels is steerable by a wheel mounting arrangement that eliminates the conventional fork and uses instead a split shaft and splined sleeve interconnection on which the wheel is journaled. Right and left links interconnect the sleeve respectively to proximate right and left fore-and-aft movable shaft carriers for controlling the position of the sleeve as the wheel is steered, thus increasing the range of steerability without increasing the width of the body within which the wheel is confined. Preferably, both wheels are powered by hydraulic motors.

  • Patent number: 4357893
Abstract: A motorcycle having a body carried on front and rear power-driven wheels in which the wheels are provided with novel tread design cooperating with the body and portions thereof to literally pump water rearwardly while confining it to ridge or crest form centered on the longitudinal centerline of the vehicle whereby to enable the vehicle to travel over water. The body is closed at its top, opposite sides and also at its front and rear ends by front and rear fender wells, respectively, creating an air chamber beneath which the front wheel pumps water to flow rearwardly as aforesaid.

  • Patent number: 4157739
Abstract: A pair of elongated, parallel tubes. A frame is formed by transverse members joining the tubes at each end thereof. Wheels are affixed to each end of the frame and are interconnected by tie rod structures such that the wheels operate together as a steering mechanism, each wheel turning in the opposite direction of the other wheel. A cover is attached over the frame, and, together with front and rear fender members attached to the frame adjacent the ends of the frame, forms a cavity. A motor is mounted within the cavity and drives a hydraulic pump. The pump drives hydraulic motors mounted in the hubs of the wheels.

  • Patent number: 4098041
Abstract: A perforated tubular member is used as a tool for digging a trench in the sand, in which trench the member is buried and used for supporting a pole for a volleyball or like net, two such members being used for two poles and one net.

  • Patent number: 4040214
Abstract: The support is of inverted L shape and its depending leg is vertically adjustable to select the extent to which the leg will penetrate the ground. The other leg then overlies the ground and has pole-supporting means at its free end.

  • Patent number: 4009779
Abstract: A packaged kit or assemblage of components useful for the playing of volleyball or the like comprises a pair of ground anchors and a plurality of net post sections arranged in such manner that the post sections include two sets of three sections each arranged so that the six posts are parallel to each other and the ground anchors each include tubular parts strung on one post section, dual-legs means straddling the post sections, and post-supporting parts spaced from the post sections and providing a carrying handle, the kit overall being in "suitcase" form.

  • Patent number: 4009780
Abstract: An assemblage of components for playing volleyball is arranged in a kit for convenient packaging, storing and handling, the components comprising a pair of Z-shaped ground anchors and a plurality of post sections arranged in two sets of three post sections per set. The anchors have cylindrical parts through which two of the post sections are passed when packaged, with the other four sections in parallelism, and a pair of end members is provided for retaining the posts with the ground anchors of course retained in turn by the first two posts. As a further adjunct, a volleyball net is packaged in the kit and is retained by the means securing the end members together.
