Patent number: 5970538Abstract: A pantographic support control mechanism (10) for use with furniture includes one or more pantographic linkages (16). The or each linkage (16) is mounted between a forward end (104) and a rearward end (26, 106). Extension of the linkage(s) (16) causes relative movement of the forward and rearward ends (104) (26, 106) away from each other whereas contraction of the linkage(s) (16) causes relative movement of the forward and rearward ends (104) (26, 106) towards each other. One or more support means (14) are pivotally mounted with respect to and at or near respectively one or more of the pantographic linkages (16). One or more corresponding urging means (12) are arranged to act between a pantographic linkage (16) and a respective support means (14) in a manner such that extension of the or each linkage (16) causes the or each urging means (12) to respectively act on its respective support means (14) to cause it to pivot from an inoperative position to an operative position.Type: GrantFiled: June 6, 1997Date of Patent: October 26, 1999Assignee: Borthwick Industries Pty Ltd.Inventor: Dale Norman Walker

Patent number: 4936215Abstract: In the operative position shown in FIG. 4 a printing roller abuts the cylindrical surface of an impression roller to cause ink to be transferred from an anilox roller via the printing roller to the impression roller. The gear wheel on the impression roller meshes with a gear on the printing roller which in turn meshes with a gear on the anilox roller to cause rotation of those three rollers. The printing roller and the anilox roller can be moved to the right, when viewed in FIG. 4, to move their co-operating cylindrical surfaces out of contact with each other, and yet still leave their gears in mesh in order to enable the printing roller to be changed and yet maintain the rotation of the anilox roller. A clutch is provided to enable the printing roller to be stationary when being changed, or to enable the printing roller to be correctly aligned with the impression roller when brought back into co-operation therewith.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 1989Date of Patent: June 26, 1990Assignee: Cobden Chadwick LimitedInventors: Norman Walker, Peter J. Chadwick

Patent number: 4311332Abstract: A shellfish rake in which a plurality of tines are laterally spaced from each other so as to form a basket having a generally open front face adapted to be closed by a spring actuated cover. The rear wall of the basket includes a guide adapted to receive an elongated pole which serves to actuate; that is, to dredge, the basket across the floor or shellfish bed of the ocean, river, etc. A line is attached to the basket such that the basket may be brought to the surface of the water while using the elongated pole as a guide rather than lifting the pole and attached basket as is conventionally done. An additional feature of the invention includes a frame supported by the boat of the user which includes a pivotally attached upright member in turn adapted to fixedly engage the pole such that back and forth pivotal movement of such member actuates the pole and thus drags the basket across the surface of the bed in a more efficient manner.Type: GrantFiled: November 19, 1980Date of Patent: January 19, 1982Inventor: Norman A.
