  • Patent number: 4238650
Abstract: An electrical switch including a body and an elongate operating lever which extends from the body for manual operation. The lever, or at least part of the lever is rotatable about its longitudinal axis to effect a first switching action and is movable angularly relative to the body of the switch about an axis generally transverse to the longitudinal axis of the lever so as to effect a second switching action. An interlock arrangement is provided whereby in the angularly moved position of the lever rotational movement of the lever about its longitudinal axis is resisted.

  • Patent number: 4206325
Abstract: An electrical switch wherein a first contact member is movable relative to the switch body between first and second operative positions, and a second contact member is movable relative to the body also between respective first and second operative positions. The second contact member is movable independently of the first contact member and there is provided an arrangement whereby the second contact member is caused to be in a predetermined one of its first and second positions when the first contact member is moved into its second position from its first position. The arrangement ensures that the second contact member is in said one of the positions by moving the second contact member to that position as the first contact member is moved from its first position to its second position, in the event that the second contact member is not already in said one of its positions.

  • Patent number: 4036817
Abstract: A direction indicator switch having a body, a rotor, and detent means on the body and the rotor for releasably retaining the rotor in any one of a rest, and first and second operative positions. A detent release member is movable with the rotor and is also movable relative to the rotor to release the detent means, and carried by the body is a pawl. The pawl is resiliently urged towards a projecting position wherein the pawl intersects the orbit of a striker rotating with the vehicle steering shaft. The pawl is capable of movement relative to the body about first and second spaced parallel axes, and is permitted to move to its projecting position when the rotor of the switch is moved to either of its first or second operative positions. During cancelling movement the pawl is moved by the striker, and in turn co-operates with the detent release member to release the detent mechanism and thus to permit the rotor to be moved back to its central rest position by an inherent spring bias.
