Abstract: A footwear heel 40, including a storage cavity 32 provided within the heel 40; the cavity 32 provided for storing an item. The cavity 32 includes an access opening 52 providing access to the storage cavity 32 through the inside of an associated item of footwear 36. A cover 50 is provided for covering the access opening 52. The cavity 32 is formed in the heel 40 during manufacture of the heel 40 by providing at least one of a surround and a last within one of a footwear heel mould and a footwear sole mould, and then adding a heel material in a fluid form into the mould about at least one of the surround and last.

Abstract: A system for communicating an alert message from a user to a recipient is disclosed. In one embodiment the system includes a communications network, a communication device, and a communications management system. The communications device is activatable by the user to transmit into the communications network a signal communicating identification information associated with the user. The communication management receives and processes the signal to establish a communications channel between the communications device and a communications service associated with a recipient. The communications service is selected according to the identification information. Method and devices for communicating an alert signal are also disclosed.

Abstract: A telecommunication system having a cellular mobile telephone system in which calls from cellular telephones are routed through a mobile service switching center exchange. Users of the system, having control of respective groups of mobile telephone are able via user terminals to access respective databases in a signalling processor and to place in the data base information about call parameters, such as call restrictions, for ones of the telephone of that user controlled group. When a call is made from any mobile telephone, the call signal is decoded at the relevant exchange and a determination is made as to whether the call originates from a mobile telephone which is a member of a controlled group. If so, the related database in the controller is accessed and the call is controlled in accordance with the appropriate call parameter, on the basis of the information in the related database.
