  • Patent number: 8456277
Abstract: A locking cylinder is proposed for installation in a lock, with a locking element for actuating a lock bolt or the like, and an actuating element, preferably a knob, wherein the actuating element is normally disengaged from the locking element, and with a coupling for connecting the locking element to the actuating element after receiving an identification code from an associated transponder. An electromechanical converter is associated with the actuating element, which converter converts an actuation of the actuating element into electrical energy which is used to support the wireless communication with the transponder and/or the engaging of the coupling when a valid identification signal is received.
