Abstract: A device for grading and stripping tobacco leaves or the like from its associated stalk which includes a supporting instrumentality for holding the stalk and a plurality of partitions defining both the stalk support and the areas of demarcation between one section of the tobacco stalk and another which corresponds to different grades of tobacco, the partitions being adjustable on a supporting channel member. A stripping instrumentality is disposed on a housing within which resides an instrumentality for advancing the stalk, the stripping instrumentality and therefore the partitions in the direction of the stripper motion so that leaves retained adjacent the stripper instrumentality are already segregated according to grade.
