  • Patent number: 8537636
Abstract: The present invention relates to a seismic cable (3) comprising at least two sensor nodes (4), the cable being adapted to lie permanently on a seabed (5). By covering each sensor node (4) and a length of the cable (3) connecting the sensor nodes (4) with a flexible protective socket (7), there is obtained a leak-tight connection, whereby penetration of water and/or moisture into the components of the sensor node (4) is not permitted.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 11, 2008
Date of Patent: September 17, 2013
    Assignee: Siemens Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventor: Norvald Berland
  • Patent number: 7816605
Abstract: A connection device for cables having an elongated, cylindrical body with first and second ends, a termination interface member attached to each end of the elongated cylindrical body, wherein the elongated, cylindrical body is made of a flexible, cylindrical substrate member extending between the termination interfaces, with a plurality of elongated tension members helically wound about the exterior of the flexible substrate member, the ends of the tension members being attached to respective termination interface members.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 13, 2008
Date of Patent: October 19, 2010
    Assignee: Bennex AS

  • Patent number: 7684283
Abstract: A cable device wherein a signal-carrying cable is disposed within a flexible towing sleeve. The towing sleeve is made of a flexible, elongated sheet of abrasion-resistant material, into which is arranged a plurality of longitudinal, parallel pockets or sleeves. One or more elongated strain elements are arranged in the pockets such that one or more loops protrude at each end of the elongated sheet. The sheet is formed into a cylinder, in the interior of which is arranged the signal-carrying cable. A plurality of such cables may be connected in series to signal processing modules for use as seismic cables.

  • Patent number: 7469722
Abstract: A bend stiffener comprising a modular arrangement of alternating disks of rigid material and flexible material, each disk having a center hole arranged in axial alignment with the center holes of adjacent disks. The axially-aligned disks are arranged intermediate an end plate and a front plate, and are sandwiched together by one or more tensioned wires or other such elongated elements passing from the end plate to the front plate. Either or both the end plate or the front plate contain termination means for connection to a structure, such as for example bolts, threads latches or other locking mechanism.
