  • Patent number: 6423160
Abstract: A stainless steel plate for a shadow mask, comprising 9 to 20 weight % of chromium (Cr), 0.15 weight % or less of carbon (C), 0 to 1.0 weight % of manganese (Mn), 0 to 0.2 weight % of titanium (Ti), 0 to 1.0 weight % of silica (Si), and 0 to 1.0 weight % of aluminum (Al); wherein the rest includes ferrite (Fe) and inevitable impurities, and in the inevitable impurities, the content of phosphor (P) is 0.05 weight % or less and the content of sulfur (S) is 0.03 weight % or less. Furthermore, the metal plate for a shadow mask after cold rolling or shape correction is performed is subjected to annealing treatment at the end-point temperature of the plate of 550 to 650° C. This steel plate has a coefficient of thermal expansion smaller than that of low carbon steel and is less expansive than invar alloy. Further, the steel plate has high strength that is acceptable for the shadow mask that is used under conditions where plastic deformation is small at high temperature and high tension is applied.

  • Patent number: 6411024
Abstract: A color picture tube for which a light-weight support frame for holding a shadow mask can be used and whose weight can be reduced, and a color picture tube that can be provided without requiring the use of a press mold, and a press machine for producing a shadow mask. The tension applied to the shadow mask is 5-90% of the tension (full tension) that would be applied to the shadow mask to prevent electron beams from arriving at a position that is shifted from a predetermined arrival position on the phosphor screen surface due to the thermal expansion of the shadow mask caused by absorbing thermal energy that is converted from the energy of electron beams when electron beams strike the shadow mask.

  • Patent number: 6133685
Abstract: In a cathode-ray tube, a nonmetallic material such as ceramic or the like is used for an electrode 1a part of an electron gun. Consequently, the deterioration of the efficiency of modulation of electron beam trajectories by an eddy current generated at the metallic electrode part of the electron gun in the high-frequency magnetic fields and the heat generation at the electrode can be decreased. The generation of the eddy current by high-frequency magnetic fields by a convergence yoke or the like can be restrained by using a nonmetallic material for the electrode part of the electron gun. Consequently, the efficiency of modulation of electron beam trajectories is not deteriorated also in a high-frequency modulation zone and the heat generation at the electrode part can be also restrained. Less deterioration of efficiency of modulation of electron beam trajectories by the alternating magnetic fields occurs even in the high-frequency modulation zone, for example, more than 100kHz.

  • Patent number: 5959399
Abstract: After adhesive resin is applied to a surface of a flat panel, a front panel is glued thereto. One side of the front panel is contacted to the adhesive resin layer with the front panel tilted toward the surface of the flat panel. Then, the front panel is moved slowly to be close and parallel to the front panel. Finally, the front panel is pressed to the surface of the flat panel. Afterward, the adhesive resin is hardened. It is preferable that the thickness of the adhesive resin applied to the surface of the flat panel is decreasing from the side to which the side of the front panel is contacted, to the opposite side. By the above-mentioned method, an image display apparatus having multilayer structure comprising of a flat panel for displaying image, an adhesive resin layer and a front panel can be manufactured efficiently.
