  • Publication number: 20080062248
Abstract: In a police box, a police box terminal, a visitor sensor, a found article storage and other suitable components are provided. In a videophone reception center, a reception server, an automatic answering server, an MCU, and a reception terminal are provided. These components are connected to each other via a communication line. The police box terminal is provided with an emergency call button and a usual reception button. In the case of the usual reception, the reception server connects the police box terminal to the automatic answering server, sequentially retrieves question videos from an investigation record file and sends them to the police box terminal, acquires an answer video or character-based information in response to each question video to create an investigation record automatically. In the case of the emergency call, the reception server includes a function for calling a low-priority reception terminal and connecting the emergency call to the same even if all the reception terminals are connected.

  • Publication number: 20070217408
Abstract: An address resolution device includes a gate keeper having an address table with which global addresses, private addresses, and grouping IDs can be registered. During address registration, the gate keeper registers the address of a communication packet into the global addresses, the address assigned to the terminal into the private addresses, and if available, a Grouping ID into grouping IDs. During address notification, the gate keeper consults the address table to notify the caller terminal of the callee terminal private address when the callee terminal and the caller terminal have the same Grouping ID or when they have the same global address. Otherwise, the gate keeper notifies the caller terminal of the callee terminal global address.

  • Publication number: 20060234193
Abstract: A sign language interpretation system has a function to interconnect a deaf-mute person terminal, a non-deaf-mute person terminal, and a sign language interpreter terminal, and a function to synthesize a video/audio signal received from each terminal and to transmit a synthesized signal to each terminal in order to provide a videophone conversation service via sign language interpretation between the deaf-mute person and the non-deaf-mute person. A controller includes a sign language interpreter registration table in which the selection information and terminal number of a sign language interpreter as well as an availability flag are registered. An available sign language interpreter satisfying the selection conditions specified by a caller is selected by way of a call from the deaf-mute person or non-deaf-mute person. The terminal for sign language interpreters and the calling terminal are called and automatically interconnected.

  • Publication number: 20060165225
Abstract: In the telephone interpretation system, a control unit accepts a call from a caller terminal, references an interpreter registration table to extract the terminal number of an interpreter who can interpret between the language of the caller and the language of the callee, and connects the caller terminal, the callee terminal, and the interpreter terminal. The telephone interpretation system also includes the function of conducting voice communications necessary for interpretation among the terminals. The voice of the interpreter is transmitted by a switch to either the caller or the callee who is designated from the interpreter terminal. The voice of the other party of conversation is suppressed or shut off when the voice of the interpreter is detected by a voice synthesis unit. Consequently, it is possible to provide quick and precise interpretation services.

  • Publication number: 20060120307
Abstract: A videophone interpretation system accepts a call from a caller terminal and refers an interpreter registration table to extract the terminal number of an interpreter capable of interpreting between the language of a caller and the language of a callee and connects the caller terminal, a callee terminal and an interpreter terminal. The videophone interpretation system includes a function to communicate video and audio necessary for interpretation between the terminals. The audio of an interpreter is transmitted either to the caller or callee, which is specified by the interpreter terminal. The audio of the conversation partner is suppressed or interrupted when the audio of the interpreter is detected by an audio synthesizer, thereby providing a quick and precise interpretation service.
