  • Publication number: 20240130986
Abstract: The present invention relates a method for the use of a product with propyl propane thiosulfonate (PTSO), whose purpose is the treatment and/or prophylaxis of malignant neoplasms such as solid cancers and myeloproliferative syndromes in humans. In a preferred embodiment, the method includes the selection of the PTSO compound which general formula is R-SOa-S-R, where “R” represents the n-propyl group (—CH2—CH2—CH3) and “a” is 2.

  • Patent number: 9073844
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for preparing a propiolic acid or a derivative thereof by reacting a terminal alkyne with carbon dioxide, which comprises performing the reaction in the presence of a base and a copper complex, especially a copper (I) complex having at least one ligand, at least one of the ligands of the copper complex being selected from monodentate ligands which have an aminic or iminic nitrogen atom capable of coordination with copper, and polydentate ligands having at least two atoms or atom groups which are capable of simultaneous coordination with copper and are selected from nitrogen, oxygen, sulfur, phosphorus and carbene carbon.

  • Patent number: 8757072
Abstract: The invention relates to a device and a method for biomass combustion and simultaneous CO2 capture for capturing the CO2 generated in said combustion to generate a substantially pure CO2 stream (9) which can be subsequently stored. The device comprises a combustor-carbonator reactor (a) which is fed with biomass and air; at least one solids recycling cyclone (b, c) which separates solids (5) returning to the combustor-carbonator and from which there exits a solids and gases stream (4). The device comprises a calciner B which regenerates CaO, a fluidized bed (d) and means for feeding fresh CaCO3 (12) and for purging solids (11).

  • Patent number: 8022255
Abstract: A process for preparing ketones of the general formula (III) where R is an optionally substituted carbocyclic aromatic radical having 6 to 24 carbon atoms or an optionally substituted alkyl radical or an optionally substituted heteroaromatic radical having 5 to 24 carbon atoms, and R1 is an optionally substituted carbocyclic aromatic radical having 6 to 24 carbon atoms or an optionally substituted heteroaromatic radical having 5 to 24 carbon atoms, by reacting alpha-oxo carboxylates of the general formula (I) wherein n and m is a number in the range from 1 to 6, M(m+) is a cation, and R has the meaning indicated for formula (III), with aryl bromides of the general formula (II) R1—Br??(II) where R1 has the meaning indicated for formula (III), in the presence of two transition metals or compounds thereof as catalyst, is described.

  • Patent number: 7593776
Abstract: A novel system and method for restoring functional movement of a paralyzed limb(s) or a prosthetic device. Stimulating one or more muscles of a patient using an implanted neuromuscular implants and sensing the response of the stimulated muscle by the implants, wherein the sensing the response is not limited to data related to patient's movement intention, the posture, muscle extension, M-Wave and EMG. A communication and control protocol to operate the system safely and efficiently, use of forward and reverse telemetry channels having a limited bandwidth capacity, and minimizing the adverse consequences caused by errors in data transmission and intermittent loss of power to the implants. Adjusting stimulation rates and phases of the stimulator in order to achieve an efficient control of muscle force while minimizing fatigue and therefore providing for smooth movements and dynamic increase of the strength in patient's muscle contraction.
