  • Patent number: 9861455
Abstract: An improved dental system is disclosed for implanting into a jawbone of a patent comprising a dental implant having a coronal end and a small apical end with an orifice extending from the coronal end toward the apical end. An orientation portion is disposed in the orifice for aligning an abutment relative to the dental implant. A threaded portion is disposed in the orifice for receiving a threaded portion of the abutment for securing the abutment to the dental implant. Preferably, the orifice extends at least one-half the length of the dental implant.

  • Patent number: 5092771
Abstract: An apparatus and method is disclosed for an improved rotary dental implant post for supporting as prosthesis in a patient, comprising as boss having a boss hole defining a boss hole recess. A prosthesis support is secured to a stud with the stud having a stud projection. An undercut is defined in the boss enabling the stud projection to be moved along the bore hole recess and to enter the undercut for enabling free rotation of the support relative to the boss. In one enbodiment of the invention, the stud projection comprises threads disposed on the stud for mating engaging with threads defined in the boss hole. In another embodiment of the invention, the stud projection comprises a key expending from the stud for mating engaging with a keyway defined in the boss hole.

  • Patent number: 4636216
Abstract: An endosseous implant is disclosed for permanent implantation within a groove formed in the posterior alveolar process in the mandible of the mouth of a patient. The implant comprises a supporting head for supporting a crown portion of an artificial tooth. The supporting head has a substantially horizontal top surface and a base portion. A constricted neck portion is rigidly secured to the base portion for supporting the supporting head. An apertured blade portion is also rigidly secured to the neck portion such that the neck portion connects together the supporting head and the blade portion. The blade portion includes a lingual and a buccal face and a mesial and a distal portion. The mesial portion of the blade portion has a blunt mesial edge and the distal portion has a distal edge of pointed configuration. The neck portion is disposed adjacent the juncture of the mesial and the distal portions and the distal portion is curved away from the longitudinal axis of the mesial portion.

  • Patent number: 4531915
Abstract: A dental implant is disclosed for rigidly anchoring a prosthesis to a jawbone implant site. The first embodiment of the dental implant comprises a center post having a boss connected to the proximal end thereof. A plurality of fins extend radially outward along the center post along the entire longitudinal length thereof. The boss includes a counterbore and a threaded hole for receiving a support cone having a threaded stud extending therefrom. Alternatively, the boss defines a socket for the reception of a correspondingly shaped plug disposed on the support cone. The base has disposed thereon a circumferential sleeve of ceramic material. The second embodiment of the dental implant comprises a major post having a plurality of elongated fins extending radially outward from both sides of the major post. The proximal end of the major post includes a similar counterbore and a threaded hole for receiving the stud of the support cone.
