    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a measurement handling in wireless communications. According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a method performed by a wireless device in a wireless communication system, the method comprises: receiving information for a validity timer from a network; starting the validity timer to be expired at a first expiration time point based on the information; while the validity timer is running, performing a measurement on one or more neighbor cells and performing cell reselections; determining a mobility state based on a number of the cell reselections; adjusting, based on the mobility state, the first expiration time point to a second expiration time point of the validity timer that is currently running; and stopping the measurement upon reaching the second expiration time point.

According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a method performed by wireless device in a wireless communication system, the method comprises: receiving, from a first cell, a first frequency list for a measurement comprising a specific frequency; performing a measurement on the specific frequency to obtain a measurement result for the specific frequency; receiving, from a second cell to which a cell reselection is performed, a second frequency list for a measurement; and upon identifying that the specific frequency is different from all frequencies included in the second frequency list, releasing the measurement result for the specific frequency.
