    Abstract: The invention is a protective device suitable for keeping moisture from a selected region of a body, comprising: a closure band formed from a flexible substrate and having a channel imbedded in a first substrate surface and a ridge disposed on a second substrate surface with an adhesive strip on the second substrate surface for attaching the closure band to the body; and a nonpermeable enclosure formed from a clear, waterproof fabric, the nonpermeable enclosure having a cover ridge, the cover ridge inserted into the channel so as to produce a barrier against moisture and contaminants between the closure band and the nonpermeable enclosure.
