Abstract: A method and an apparatus for manufacturing a tin-like container comprising a sleeve formed body or jacket (1) and at least one end closure (2, 3), in which the jacket (1) and the end closure or the end closures (2, 3) at the interior side of the container has a layer (5) of a constant heat weldable, high frequence weldable or ultrasonic weldable material, and in which the container is closed under sealed condition in that the end closure (2, 3) is formed with an edge flange extending all around the end closure and is introduced in the jacket (1) and is welded thereto. The introduction of the end closure (2, 3) in the jacket (1) is made by means of a press piston (14) having a press cone (15) which is formed with an expandable means (15d; 29).

Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus for making a container comprising an outer container of cardboard or similar stiff material and a lining of plastic or other easily formable and preferably gas-sealing material which lining is provided in the said outer container and which at the side of the container to be opened exposes an even single layer of lining material, and which is filled from and closed at the opposite end thereof.The container can be used for packing of any types of goods, but it is in particular suited for packing of compressed and/or evacuated goods of the type which is to be packed hermetically sealed. It is however to be understood that the container can as well be used for packing of any other solid or liquid product.

Abstract: A method for making a container having an outer container tube of cardboard or the like and a lining of plastic or the like within the outer container tube, one end of the container exposing an openable lining side and the opposite end intended to be filled and closed. A tubular outer container blank having bottom close flaps is provided and a separate lining blank in introduced into the outer container blank so that the upper side thereof is positioned at or adjacent the upper edge of the outer container blank. The lining blank is pressed from the openable side back some distance into itself to provide a lining rib which extends around the openable side. The lining blank is secured in the outer container blank by folding the top flaps of the outer container blank in and securing them to the lining rib.

Abstract: A blank is provided for a cup-shaped container to be fabricated of cardboard or the like. The container is of a type comprising substantially rectangular sides which extend upwardly from a bottom and which include rounded corners of the upper edge thereof and an edge flange which projects obliquely downwardly at an angle along the sides. The blank is formed as an integral unit comprising outwardly extending sides which are intergral with a bottom portion and which include a portion that is at least partially bowed when the blank is formed into the container and forms part of the edge flange of the formed container. The edge flange itself comprises an edge flange strip and a reinforcing strip defined by a pair of fold lines in the sides of the blank.

Abstract: A container of the type having a stiff outer container and a formable liner. The liner has a closed end which is exposed at one end of the outer container, the opposite end of the liner being constructed to be filled with product. At the one end of the liner it is pressed down into itself in the central portion thereof to form an upstanding double layer rib all around its periphery. Flaps at the end of the outer container are folded in against the inward facing surface of the liner rib to secure the liner in place and form the central part of the liner at that end as an even openable end of the container.

Abstract: In a method for packing of powder formed goods in a container which is hermetically sealable under vacuum, a container blank is formed into an open topped container and a predetermined amount of powder formed product is deposited into the container. The product is slightly compacted by a piston which moves relatively slowly down into the container and presses the product at a relatively low pressure, the piston being then removed. In a second step, the product is compressed by a piston at a relatively high pressure so that the surface of the product is compressed to a level which is below the intended final level of the container. Thereafter the product is subjected to a relatively slight compression by means of a piston which, with a relatively low pressure, is pressed onto the surface of the product. In this third compression step, the relatively low pressure may be followed by a momentary thrust of the piston at a higher pressure.
