  • Patent number: 4944604
Abstract: A flexible intermediate bulk container includes at least two lifting loops which are integral extensions of a side wall structure and a base structure. The extensions are folded and joined to adjacent side wall panels such that each lifting loop connects with or is an integral part of two or three side wall panels and all fibers of the lifting loops have the same lifting height. The wall structure can have double layer walls such that each lifting loop is connected to or is integral with both layers and the ends of each lifting loop are displaced circumferentially relative to each other. Both wall structure and lifting loops can have integrally woven or stitched on reinforcing bands. The container can have an upper closure including a top lid, a filling spout and a wall structure with an open lower end.

  • Patent number: 4584705
Abstract: A flexible container for filling, transport and storage of bulk material is made from at least one piece of base material. The bottom of the container is formed from at least four paired, preferably equally large, flaps which are direct extensions of the container side walls. The bottom flaps are formed by cut lines in the piece of material, and the angles .alpha. and .beta. of alternate flaps converge toward the center of the bottom. The sum of top angles .alpha. and .beta. of the flaps is less than 360.degree., such that the container bottom formed by joints of the flaps is downward slightly cone or funnel shaped when the container is filled. The sum of the angles .alpha. and .beta. of the flaps preferably is between (240.degree.-280.degree.) and 360.degree.. The container bottom will be substantially square or rectangular, depending on whether .alpha.=.beta. or .alpha..noteq..beta..

  • Patent number: 4393910
Abstract: The invention relates to flexible containers for lifting, transport and storage of bulk material and comprises lifting loops, an inlet opening, sidewalls and a bottom. Such containers can be used for transport and storage of large articles like 50 kilo bags, but also for free-flowing material. Easy loading and unloading into railroad cars, trucks and the like can be obtained by using this container. The container has four integrated lifting loops which are direct extensions of the container's sidewalls, and each lifting loop has a width of up to 1/4 of the container's circumference. The container's bottom is preferably made from the extension of at least one of the sidewalls.
