  • Patent number: 7207072
Abstract: The present invention relates to a helmet and a basic helmet concept with highly flexible construction of use in a number of different situations. The helmet can provide varying degrees of protection and can very easily alternate between the various forms of protection. In addition the individual parts of the helmet can easily be replaced. The helmet consists of an outer helmet with a head-protecting part (1) which essentially covers the side, top and back of the head, a chin guard (39 in front of the lower part of the face and a transparent visor (2) which covers the field of vision of the person using the helmet, together with an inner helmet which is connected to the outer helmet and which inner helmet abuts against the user's head.

  • Patent number: 7178445
Abstract: The present invention relates to ballistic protection for use in personal equipment or in vehicles of various types such as cars, helicopters and boats or for use in permanent or temporary protection of various types in buildings or other fixed or mobile installations. The ballistic protection according to the present invention can be employed as protection against various kinds of low or high-velocity projectiles in addition to which it will be capable of offering protection against splinters and various kinds of fragments which could other wise injure people or damage vehicles or installations if they had the opportunity of penetrating right through an external protective layer. The ballistic protection according to the present invention can further be combined with a drinking water reservoir since an essential part of the protection is a liquid container. The drinking water supply, for example, for a soldier is thereby improved both with regard to available volume and position/carrying capacity.

  • Publication number: 20060032499
Abstract: An exhalation system is provided for a helmet or face mask, which helmet or face mask covers the whole or parts of the area of the face's exhalation organs, the nose and mouth, with a chin guard. The system is characterised in that the chin guard is provided with an internal closed cavity which has an opening towards the interior of the helmet or the face mask on the inside of the chin guard and an additional opening towards the outside of the chin guard. The opening towards the interior of the helmet is relatively large and is in the form of one large opening or a small number of large openings which offer the least possible resistance and maintain the velocity of the exhalation air in the best possible manner.

  • Patent number: 5255674
Abstract: This invention relates to a portable heating and humidifying device which is effective in giving emergency therapy for accidental hypothermia. The device includes a charcoal fuel element heater (2;31) which is integrated-with a moisturized element (1;32), so that heated air from the heater (2;31) is humidified by being passed through the moisturized element (1;32). The moisturized element contains a body (11;38) of water absorbent material, such as fibre wadding or foamed polymer. The body (11;38) of water absorbent material is contained within a heat conducting first housing (10;41), so as to leave a first airspace (13;41) between substantial parts of the outer surface of the body (11;38) and the inner surface of the first housing (10;41). The first housing (10;42) is arranged within a heat insulating second housing (15;50) defining a second airspace (16;45) through which dry warm air is transported to the face of person breathing the humidified air.
