    Abstract: A device for fixation of tubes in tube banks in heat exchangers with longitudinal flow externally of the tubes comprises a plurality of longitudinally spaced tube support grates having bars extending transversely between the spacings between the tubes. The grate bars are provided in such manner that the bars in any two arbitrarily selected neighboring grates impart their supporting function by alternating oppositely directed pressure transversely of each of the tubes.
