Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods and systems for performing dental scans, including a method for performing a dental scan, comprising: (i) providing an intraoral adapter comprising: a viewing channel located between a proximal portion and a distal portion of an elongated housing and a mounting mechanism provided on the distal portion of the elongated housing, wherein the mounting mechanism is configured to couple the intraoral adapter to a mobile device, wherein the mobile device comprises: (a) a camera configured to capture videos or images, (b) at least one orientation sensor or at least one motion sensor, and (c) a processing unit configured to (1) process orientation or motion sensors data, and (2) process a plurality of videos or images; (ii) providing a feedback device; (iii) coupling the intraoral adapter to the mobile device; and (iv) performing a dental scan, wherein the feedback device connected to the mobile device generates a dental scan output based on one or more dental scan properties an

Abstract: A method for updating a three-dimensional (3D) dental model of at least one tooth, comprising: (a) providing at least one 2D dental image including the at least one tooth; (b) running a trained visual filter neural network on the 2D dental image to identify the tooth number of the at least one tooth; (c) providing a baseline 3D dental model that includes the at least one tooth; (d) generating a 2D capture of the baseline 3D dental model; (e) updating the 2D capture of the 3D dental model to include the identified tooth number obtained from the 2D dental image; and (f) using the updated 2D capture to update the 3D dental to include the identified tooth number obtained from the 2D dental image.
