  • Patent number: 9460556
Abstract: A system and method for providing an intuitive and efficient mechanism to select areas of interest on a 3D model, and modify a pose or shape of the 3D model. A masking module allows an artist to interactively mask portions of a 3D object and leave other portions of the object unmasked. A posing module provides various tools to allow the artist to apply a posing or reshaping action on the unmasked areas of the 3D object. The computer artist masks portions of the 3D object by clicking and dragging the user input device on an area of the 3D object. All vertices whose topological distances are closer to the vertex associated with the initial click position than the final dragged position are masked. The artist then draws an action line on or partially on the 3D object to define a coordinate system. The artist clicks on a point on the action line, and drags the user input device for corresponding transformations of the unmasked portions of the 3D object.

  • Publication number: 20090167762
Abstract: A system and method for creating a surface shader based on material surface shading information of a reference image. A user interface is provided which allows an artist to place various markers on the reference image. One or more points on the reference image identified by the placed markers are sampled for obtaining shading information for the sampled points. A 2D image is then generated with the obtained shading information. As markers are added or existing markers replaced on the reference image, the 2D image is updated in real time to provide feedback to the user of the surface shader that is being created. The surface shader is then used to render a 3D object.

  • Patent number: 4898182
Abstract: A heart fitness evaluation system is set up in booth form in which a participating person may have the fitness condition of his heart evaluated based on a step test protocol. Personalized data is transmitted to the system in the form of selected answers to questions proposed, and the person is classified according to such data provided for the purposes of data comparison. The person engages in supervised exercise over a timed period to accelerate heart functions. After the activity, the person's heart is monitored to determine the recovery rate of the heart over real time. Comparison of the recovery rate is made against stored physiological data relating to heart rate recovery of classified persons, which is translated in to the fitness level of the person's heart and displaying such results.
