Abstract: A method of implementing a hybrid broadcast-unicast television is provided herein. The method may include: broadcasting a stream of a user-requested content over a digital television (DTV) channel; monitoring at least one qualitative criterion of the stream broadcasted over the DTV channel; in case that the monitored qualitative criterion is below a predefined threshold, switching said user to an internet protocol (IP) channel that corresponds to same stream of said DTV channel; and in a case that after switching to the IP channel, the monitored qualitative criterion becomes equal to or above said predefined threshold, switching back said user to said DTV channel, wherein the switching from the IP channel to the DTV channel comprises buffering the stream of the DTV channel through the IP channel so as to preserve continuity of the stream received by the user.

Abstract: A method of sorting search results by recommendation engine is provided herein. The method starts off with receiving a search query from a user associated with a specific user ID. The method goes on to applying the search query to a search engine and to a content database, to yield search results. The method then goes on to retrieving a profile of the specific user from a preferences and history database, based on the user ID. Then the method proceeds to reordering the search results by a recommendation engine, based on the retrieved profile. Finally, the method concludes with providing the user with the reordered search results such that the order matches the profile of the user.

Abstract: A method of collaborative filtering recommendations using implicit user actions is provided herein. The method includes the following steps: collecting user preference of content items from the crowd; generating for each real content item, a shadow content item; updating preference for the shadow items based on the user preference of corresponding real content items; feeding a collaborative recommendation engine a list of content items and their corresponding preferences, wherein the list comprises both real and shadow content items; and filtering out the shadow content items from an output of the recommendation engine, to yield a list of recommended real content items.

Abstract: A method and system for enabling peer to peer synchronization between members of a synchronized network. A predefined synchronization reference area on each member of the network is provided. A common identifier associated with the synchronization network is provided to each member. Changes are detected on a member regarding a data item. A network identifier associated is obtained. A unique identifier of a synchronization module is obtained. A relative path to the data item within the predefined synchronization reference area is obtained. A unique value is calculated based upon a content of a version of the data item that is associated with the change. A log number counter is incremented. A log representing the data item and the chance is created. The log includes data regarding the type of change, the network identifier, the unique identifier of the synchronization module, the relative path, the unique value, and the log number.
