  • Patent number: 7684599
Abstract: A system and method may detect a transition in an image stream captured within a body lumen. One or more parameters may be computed at points corresponding to a time scale of the image stream. Transition in the values of the parameters may be identified and may indicate a location along the body lumen. The image stream may be segmented at the transition points identified.

  • Publication number: 20090214111
Abstract: This invention relates to methods for enhancing an image by expanding the color contrast of the image presented to a wider range of colors that is optimized for the item sought to be viewed. The method also increases contrast of an image or a portion of an image for example an in vivo image captured by an autonomous in vivo device. A user interface with a display provides the user with the option of viewing selected images captured by the in-vivo imaging device in either regular view or in a color enhanced view to enable more distinct viewing of the selected images.

  • Patent number: 7200253
Abstract: A system and method for measuring and analyzing motility within a body lumen such as the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, where an in vivo imaging device such as a capsule captures images and transmits the images to a processor, which calculates the motility of the device based on comparison of the images. Preferably, the processor compares the intensity of pairs of images or of elements of pairs of images, generates a variance for the compared images, and calculates the motility of the imaging device from the variances. The motility data may be presented to a user in various manners; for example, a plot of motility over time may be generated, or indications of low motility may be presented to the user of the system.
