    Abstract: This invention is intended to propose a buffing cell that can provide very high damping effect while having a small weight per a unit volume, and that can be divided into a plurality of pieces without deteriorating the damping effect. The buffing cell 10 comprises a pneumatic chamber 14 defined by a flexible nonwoven fabric 11 and a vinyl film 13 airtightly attached to the fabric 11, and a mass of sponge 12 housed in the pneumatic chamber 14. A sponge layer 12a attached to an outer face of the pneumatic chamber 14 may be used instead of the mass of sponge 12 housed in the pneumatic chamber 14. A sports protector can be made from a plurality of the buffing cells 10.
