The amidase produced from the novel Burkholderia multivorans LG 31-3 (KCTC 10920BP) according to the present invention can be useful to produce single enantiomer at a high optical purity since the racemic mixture may be easily optically resolved under enzyme reaction conditions of room temperature and normal pressure.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for preparing S-HGB ((S)-3-hydroxy-?-butyrolactone) using hydrolase, and more particularly to a method for preparing S-HGB in a high purity by hydrolyzing S-BBL ((S)-?-benzoyloxy-?-butyrolactone) in the presence of hydrolase. According to the present invention, the S-HGB having an optical purity can be obtained in a high yield under simple process conditions without requiring reaction conditions of high pressure and high temperature or complex operating conditions by hydrolyzing S-BBL with hydrolase.
