  • Patent number: 5763066
Abstract: Inclusion complexes have an organic guest molecule dye with an electron dr portion, an electron acceptor portion and a hydrophobic tail portion disposed within an organic carbohydrate host molecule. The dye in the inclusion complexes has improved thermal stability compared to itself. The complexes can be used to form a solution-cast film disposed on a substrate wherein the film thickness is up to about 20 microns and the film is made of anisotropically self-aligned (self-poled) inclusion complexes.

  • Patent number: 4861859
Abstract: Polymeric metal complexes were prepared by coordination reactions of 2,5-diamino-1,4-benzenedithiol (DADT) with divalent metal halides (cobalt chloride, iron chloride, copper chloride and nickel chloride) in an aqueous alkaline solution at reflux temperatures. A black precipitate which conducted electricity was formed. Resistivity of the material increased upon exposure to air but decreased when oxygen was removed from the material.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 28, 1988
Date of Patent: August 29, 1989

  • Patent number: 4622266
Abstract: A salt of 7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ) and a structural polymer re dissolved in a mutual solvent. The solution is chilled and subsequently added to a liquid with which the solvent is miscible but in which the TCNQ and polymer are less soluble. A precipitate results which is a massive, conducting, moldable substance stable in atmospheric oxygen.

  • Patent number: 4618453
Abstract: Phenothiazine Ladder Polymer, PTL (or di-chloro-PTL) was prepared by polydensation of 2,5-diamino-1,4-benzenedithiol with 2,5-dichloro (or 2,3,5,6-tetrachloro)-p-benzoquinone in polyphosphoric acid at 250.degree. C. Phenoxazine Ladder Polymer, POL, was prepared from 2,5-dichloro-p-phenylenediamine and 2,5-dihydroxy-p-benezoquinone under the same conditions as used for PTL synthesis. Di-chloro-POL and other derivatives can be made under a similar condition. These polymers conduct electricity.
