Abstract: A gravure offset printing press includes a first gravure plate cylinder, second gravure plate cylinder, blanket cylinder, and impression cylinder. The first gravure plate cylinder includes, on its circumferential surface, a first recess to be filled with ink. The second gravure plate cylinder includes, on its circumferential surface, a second recess which is to be filled with ink and has a width in its circumferential direction, that is larger than that of the first recess. The blanket cylinder comes into contact with the first gravure plate cylinder and the second gravure plate cylinder to receive the inks from the first and the second gravure plate cylinders. The contact position between the second gravure plate cylinder and the blanket cylinder is located upstream, in the rotation direction of the blanket cylinder, of the contact position between the first gravure plate cylinder and the blanket cylinder.

Abstract: A gravure printing press includes a gravure plate cylinder which includes, on its circumferential surface, a plurality of recesses that form image areas upon being filled with ink, an ink supply device which supplies the ink onto the circumferential surface of the gravure plate cylinder, a first blade which comes into contact with the circumferential surface of the gravure plate cylinder at a contact angle of less than 45°, and a second blade which comes into contact with the circumferential surface of the gravure plate cylinder at a contact angle of more than 45°.

Abstract: A sheet abnormality detection apparatus includes a plurality of abutting members which move upon coming into contact with at least one of sheets conveyed to overlap while being shifted from each other in a convey direction and an object attached to a sheet. The plurality of abutting members are disposed side by side in a direction perpendicular to a sheet convey direction. The apparatus also includes an abnormality detection unit which detects a sheet abnormality on the basis of a relative positional shift among the plurality of abutting members. A sheet abnormality detection method is also disclosed.
