  • Patent number: 4316272
Abstract: An electronic timepiece including a global time display that is adapted to display local time when the timepiece is in a local time mode and is adapted to be automatically indexed to display a time at a different time zone when the timepiece is in a global display mode is provided. A plurality of numerical display digits are provided for displaying time information and a plurality of visual indication display segments are disposed about the numerical display digits for selectively indicating a predetermined time zone corresponding to the time displayed by the numerical display digits. The mode select circuitry is provided for effecting a display of local time by the display digits and a local time zone by the visual indication display segments when the selection circuitry is disposed in a global time mode.

  • Patent number: 3978649
Abstract: An electronic timepiece having a quartz crystal oscillator circuit adapted to be tuned to a reference frequency or a reference frequency minus mHz, where m is an integer and a divider circuit adapted to produce a predetermined timekeeping signal is provided. The divider circuit includes a plurality of divider stages, the number of divider stages determining a division ratio to produce the predetermined low frequency signal in response to the high frequency reference signal. An adjustment circuit is coupled to the divider circuit, the adjustment circuit being adapted to adjust the division ratio of the plurality of divider stages to thereby generate the predetermined frequency when the oscillator circuit is tuned to the high frequency reference signal minus mHz.

  • Patent number: 3975897
Abstract: An electronic digital display wristwatch wherein correction of the time displayed is facilitated by an improved manually operated correction assembly. The electronic wristwatch includes a divider circuit comprising a plurality of divider stages adapted to produce timekeeping signals in response to a high frequency time standard signal applied to said divider circuit. A plurality of display elements are adapted to receive the timekeeping signals and display time in response thereto. A correction circuit assembly is coupled to each of the respective divider stages producing timekeeping signals. The correction circuit assembly includes a manually operated member displaceable in a first and second direction, the displacement of the member in a first direction effecting selection of a divider stage to be corrected, and displacement of said member in the other direction effecting correction of the divider stage selected by the first mentioned displacement.

  • Patent number: 3950935
Abstract: An electronic timepiece having a single digital display and being suitable to operate as a standard timekeeping wristwatch or in the alternative as a chronograph. Separate divider circuits are provided for performing the timekeeping and chronograph functions, a first selector circuit selecting which function is to be displayed. A single set of switches is provided for controlling either divider circuit, a second selected circuit selecting which function is performed by said switches.

  • Patent number: RE29327
Abstract: An electronic timepiece having a pulse generator producing a high frequency time standard signal, a divider circuit formed from a plurality of series-connected divider stages for producing low frequency timing signals in response to said time standard signal and a device for displaying time in response to said timing signals, is provided with a correction circuit disposed in said divider circuit. The correction circuit enables the use of a new method and apparatus for providing a correction signal to the divider stages counting seconds to reset the divider stages to zero seconds during use of the watch, to thereby correct the accuracy of the second display.
