Abstract: A system and method for detecting environmental conditions using SWIR hyperspectral imaging. A method may comprise collecting a plurality of interacted photons from at least one location and passing the interacted photons through a tunable filter, filtering the interacted photons into a plurality of wavelength bands. These filtered photons may be detected and analyzed to determine the presence or absence of an environmental condition. A system may comprise at least one collection lens configured to collect at least one plurality of interacted photons from at least one location and a tunable filter for filtering the interacted photons into a plurality of wavelength bands. The system may further comprise a detector configured to detect the filtered photons and generate at least one hyperspectral image representative of the location. The system may further comprise a processor for analyzing the hyperspectral data set and determining the presence or absence of an environmental condition.
