  • Publication number: 20200072308
Abstract: A brake actuator (1) for a vehicle includes a housing (5) and a piston (7) movably mounted inside the housing (5) and configured to reciprocate along a stroke axis (S) between a retracted position and an extended position for applying and releasing a braking force to and from a brake mechanism (101) of the vehicle. An electric motor (3) is operatively coupled to the piston (7) and configured to move the piston (7) rod between the retracted and extended positions such as to apply and release the braking force.

  • Patent number: 10197118
Abstract: A brake cylinder for an air-operated brake, in particular for commercial vehicles, has a housing including a front cover (11), wherein the front cover (11) is provided with a cylindrical lateral surface (16) and with a base wall (18) adjoining the lateral surface (16). The base wall (18) is provided with an elevated portion (19) having a central bore or middle opening (23) for a cylinder plunger. The front cover (11) is provided with a rib (46). The rib (46) extends on the base wall (18) in addition to the elevated portion (19).

  • Patent number: 9981646
Abstract: A spring-type brake cylinder that includes a compression spring, a pressure chamber, a dividing wall disposed between the compression spring and the pressure chamber, a piston having an inner wall and a bottom, and a nut disposed inside the piston and configured to be held on a release bolt. A support structure is disposed inside the piston and configured to abut against the nut while the release bolt is screwed into the nut. The piston comprises a first retaining structure and a second retaining structure, the first retaining structure configured to hold the support structure in an assembly position and the second retaining structure configured to hold the support structure in a drive position. The support structure is moveable from the assembly position to the drive position by a movement of the nut relative to the piston.

  • Publication number: 20100192767
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for mounting a fastener screw (2, 3) on the base (5) of a brake cylinder (1). The method comprises the following steps: first, producing bores (8) in the base (5) of the brake cylinder (1) that have a smaller diameter than the diameter of the fastener screw (2, 3). Subsequently, the bore (8) is widened using a stamping tool (9) far enough that the fastener screw (2, 3) will fit through said bore, forming a collar (11). Finally, the collar (11) is reformed onto the fastener screw (2, 3) by a pressing process, whereby said collar engages in a groove (12) or a ribbing (15) of the fastener screw (2, 3), thus securing said screw.
