    Abstract: The embodiments relate to an apparatus and method for streaming content to one or more user equipment devices in a telecommunications network, wherein the content is available for streaming at one of a plurality of different quality representations. The method comprises the step of receiving a request from a user equipment device, wherein the request is for delivery of a segment of the content at a first quality representation. It is determined whether the user equipment device is connected to a cell of the telecommunications network in which a congestion level of the cell is above a threshold level. If so, a fairness function is performed to determine if the segment of content should be streamed to the user equipment device at the requested first quality representation or a second quality representation. The segment of content is streamed to the user equipment device at the first quality representation or the second quality representation based on a result of performing the fairness function.

    Abstract: A network node enables a wireless device to communicate with a local service device, such as a printer or a projector, of a Local Area Network (LAN) or Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN). The network node is connected both to a communication network and to the LAN or WLAN. The method includes identifying a multicast Domain Name System (mDNS) request, where the mDNS request is received from the wireless device, and assigning a LinkLocal (LL)-address for the wireless device. The method retrieves a local IP-address of an Authentication and Authorization Service (AA-S) having authorization information regarding a local service device, and authenticates, with the AA-S which type of services, that the wireless device is authorized to use. A local IP-address of the local service device is retrieved, and service data is conveyed between the wireless device and the local service device, by applying the LL-address of the local service device.

A segment to be requested is adaptively selected contingent upon the local availability or quality level of file segments. The segment is requested from the content providing server in the specified adaptively selected adequate segment quality level. The requested segment is received in a current segment quality level corresponding to the adaptively selected adequate quality level, stored locally associated with information regarding its quality level. Received file segments pertaining to the content file are rendered in a manner as specified by a received manifest file pertaining to the content file.

The user node switches operation from the first reception mode to the second reception mode responsive to the monitored quality of the broadcasted signals being below a first threshold. Thereafter, the user node receives the TV service over the IPTV link in the second reception mode. The TV service can be properly received and played out with satisfying user experience irrespective of the broadcasted signals over the air not reaching the user node with sufficient quality.
