Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of light induced therapy. The invention relates more particularly to a method of modulating receptor function of cells having receptor proteins, said method comprising illuminating the cells with light in the wavelength interval of 250-305 nm or with light having longer wavelengths that by means of non-linear processes and/or multiphoton excitation promotes the same electronic transitions as light in the wavelength interval of 250-305 nm to modulate said receptor function.
