  • Publication number: 20230151972
Abstract: An oven includes a cooking compartment for preparing food, a vapor extraction apparatus designed to extract vapors from the cooking compartment, and a catalyst fluidically coupled to the vapor extraction apparatus and designed to convert catalytically the vapors extracted in the vapor extraction apparatus. The catalyst includes a carrier and a layer of catalyst material applied on the carrier. In a normal mode of the oven for preparing food to be cooked, the catalyst has a concentration of acetic acid in the converted vapors which concentration of acetic acid amounts to less than or equal to 5 ppm. The oven is also able to operate in a pyrolysis mode which differs from the normal mode.

  • Patent number: 11045765
Abstract: A metallic honeycomb body with channels through which a gas may flow, made up of layers of at least partially structured sheet metal, the layers of sheet metal having at least in subregions at least two different structures, of which the first structure, with a greater structure height (H), determines the size of the channels and the second structure has a much smaller structure height (h) between troughs and peaks and the form and/or the structure height (H) of the second structure being chosen such that a ceramic coating applied later may fill the troughs of the second structure on average to at least 10%, in particular at least 50%, of their structure height (h). With the honeycomb body according to the invention, more coating material per unit of volume is durably attached in a metallic honeycomb body without excessively increasing the pressure loss. This is of advantage particularly for applications for reducing nitrogen oxides (NOx) in diesel exhaust gases.

  • Patent number: 8765624
Abstract: A coating suspension for coating catalyst substrates comprises at least two different particulate metal and/or semi-metal oxides with a sedimentation mass (MS), characterized in that the sedimentation mass (MS) of the particulate metal and/or semi-metal oxide with the smallest sedimentation mass is between 70% and 100% of the sedimentation mass of the particulate metal and/or semi-metal oxide with the largest sedimentation mass. Further, a method for producing a coating suspension, the use of the coating suspension to coat a catalyst substrate, as well as a catalyst produced using the coating suspension are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20080200328
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for removing an excess of a liquid from a molded article that comprises two opposite planar faces and interior cavities and/or channels to be coated with the liquid. The inventive method is characterized by removing in a first removal step, once the liquid has been introduced into the interior cavities and/or channels, the major portion of the excess liquid under the influence of an external force, and removing in a second removal step the excess liquid remaining in the molded article after the first removal step by contacting the molded article with a porous and/or channel-bearing support on the very face where the excess was removed. The pore and/or channel diameter of the support is smaller or equal the diameter of the interior cavities and/or channels of the molded article.

  • Publication number: 20080182020
Abstract: The invention relates to a device and a method for filling a molded article that comprises a plurality of at least partially communicating interior cavities with a liquid phase or for removing the excess of a liquid phase used to coat a molded article comprising interior cavities. The inventive method is characterized in that filling or removal of the excess from the interior cavities is carried out by way of an acceleration process and a subsequent braking process, deceleration being faster than the previous acceleration, with the proviso that the inertial forces caused by deceleration and acting upon the excess liquid phase are higher than the sum of the other opposite forces also acting upon the liquid phase.

  • Patent number: 6730631
Abstract: A method is for producing monolithic substrate catalysts and for their use in the gas phase oxidation of hydrocarbons. The catalysts are obtained by coating the catalyst substrate with a suspension that includes a catalytically active compound and one or more surfactants of the general formula RnYmX. R represents the hydrophobic part of the surfactant, with n being 1, 2 or 3. Y represents the hydrophobic part of the surfactant, with m being 0, 1, 2, or 3 and X represents the hydrophilic head group of the surfactant.
