The debris collector is movable between a first position in which the debris collector is configured to collect debris generated inside the heating chamber during heating of an aerosol generating substrate by the heater and a second position in which the debris collector is configured to permit the removal or release of collected debris.

Abstract: A humidifying insert for a smoking article packaging has a planar shape, is insertable into a smoking article packaging and includes a humidifying agent and a humidity transmitter, which transfers the humidifying agent from the humidifying insert into the inner volume of the smoking article packaging. A storage compartment, in which the humidifying agent is stored, has a fluidic connection to the humidity transmitter, wherein the fluidic connection is blocked with a breakable barrier. A method for humidifying smoking articles is also provided.

Abstract: A moisture meter includes an energy source for supplying electrical energy to the moisture meter, a logic, a sensor for measuring ambient moisture, a memory and an output for outputting at least one value characteristic for a measured moisture and at least one carrier on which the energy source, the logic, the sensor, the memory and the output are arranged. The moisture meter is encapsulated within a hermetic barrier.
