  • Publication number: 20160216238
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device and related method that includes an ultrasonic transducer, an acoustic waveguide acoustically coupled to the ultrasonic transducer and transmitting and receiving electronics for transmitting and receiving ultrasound waves via the ultrasonic transducer in an explosion-protected housing. The transmitting and receiving electronics has an energy storage connected to an amplifier circuit, wherein control signals for the ultrasonic transducer transmitted from outside can be amplified to such an extent that ultrasonic signals significantly strong for monitoring can be generated. By means of the acoustic waveguide, the ultrasonic signals are guided outside through an explosion-protected passthrough in the housing and are coupled into the object. As a result, objects can be continuously monitored in explosion-protected zones without violating the safety regulations and without a stoppage of the associated system or draining of the objects.

  • Publication number: 20150216106
Abstract: The subject matter of the present invention is a method for treating pourable products made of particles which can be separated, preferably seeds (2), with accelerated electrons. During the method, a transparent product flow is guided, using gravity, in a product guiding channel (1) through the electron field generated by at least one electron accelerator (12) under low pressure or excess pressure. The product flow is guided by means of an accelerated gas flow (5) in such a way that the movement thereof corresponds in magnitude and direction to the accelerated movement, which the falling particles execute in said gas flow due to gravitational acceleration. In addition, a device is disclosed which realizes the acceleration of the gas flow (5) in the required way through the shaping of the product guiding channel (1).

  • Patent number: 8232443
Abstract: Method and device for inactivating a microbiologically contaminated mass containing solid particles. The method includes mixing the mass containing solid particles with a gelatinizing agent, transporting the mixed mass of solid particles and gelatinizing agent through a shaping device structured so that the mixed mass, at least in one area, is shaped to form a lamellar volume with a layer thickness of between 1 mm and 3 mm, and impinging the formed lamellar volume of the mixed mass with accelerated electrons.

  • Patent number: 5561342
Abstract: An electron beam exit window, known as Lenard window, has a beam exit opening which is closed in a vacuum-tight manner by a metal foil. Resting on the metal foil on the vacuum side is a supporting grid of heat-proof fiber bundles. The supporting grid is fixed in a frame. The electron beam exit window is particularly suitable for relatively low electron energies with a high power density of the electron beam. This provides an easily manufactured window with low absorption.
