  • Patent number: 10661482
Abstract: A process for the production of fiber-reinforced components or semifinished products is provided, where fibers are saturated with monomer. The process includes at least one of adding flakes including fibers and adding individual fibers. For this, the fibers, the monomer, and the flakes including fibers and/or the individual fibers are added to an injection-molding machine and forced into an injection mold, whereupon polymerization of the monomer is completed in the injection mold. Alternatively a fiber structure on a conveyor belt is saturated with a solution including a monomer, optionally including an activator, and optionally including a catalyst. In a following step, individual fibers and/or flakes including fibers are distributed on the saturated fiber structure, the fiber structure is passed through a roll pair in which pressure is exerted onto the fiber structure, and finally the saturated fiber structure is cooled so that the monomer solidifies.

  • Patent number: 10399608
Abstract: An integral component of a vehicle body includes an open profiled element and a reinforcing rib structure disposed in an interior of the open profiled element. The open profiled element has a fiber-plastics composite body having a first structure, and at least one reinforcement panel from metal for the localized reinforcement of the profiled element. The reinforcing rib structure is produced from a fiber-plastics composite having a second structure.

Assignee: DR. ING. H. C. F. PORSCHE AG
Inventors: Philipp Kellner, Ralph Renz, Frank Haeusler, Sophie Kerchnawe, Olaf Taeger
  • Patent number: 10384725
Abstract: A motor vehicle body assembly includes a composite structural component having a connection flange, and a metallic body component or functional group having a connection flange. The connection flange of the composite structural component and the connection flange of the metallic body component or functional group bear on one another and extend substantially across a preferred connection flange direction. The composite structural component has at least one carbon fiber-plastics composite tier having a thermal expansion behavior that in the fiber direction is almost temperature-neutral, and at least one fiber-plastics composite tier having a thermal expansion behavior similar to that of metal. The carbon fibers of the carbon fiber-plastics composite tier in relation to the preferred connection flange direction enclose an angle a=30 to 60°, and the fibers of the fiber-plastics composite tier in relation to the preferred connection flange direction enclose an angle b=0 to 30°.
