  • Publication number: 20200186931
Abstract: A diaphragm and suspension for an electroacoustic transducer are formed by depositing a layer of compliant material on a first surface of a solid substrate and removing material from a second surface of the solid substrate. The removal leaves a block of substrate material suspended within an inner perimeter of an outer support ring of the substrate material by the compliant material, the block providing the diaphragm.

  • Patent number: 10665220
Abstract: Technology described in this document can be embodied in a method that includes receiving a first input signal captured by at least a first feedforward microphone associated with an active noise reduction (ANR) device, receiving a second input signal captured by at least a second feedforward microphone associated with the ANR device, processing the first input signal using a first filter disposed in a first ANR signal flow path to generate a first output signal for an acoustic transducer of the ANR device, processing the second input signal using a second filter disposed in a second ANR signal flow path to generate a second output signal for the acoustic transducer, in which the second filter is different from the first filter, and generating a combined signal for the acoustic transducer based on combining the first output signal with the second output signal.

  • Publication number: 20180033419
Abstract: A headphone includes an electroacoustic transducer and a support structure for suspending the transducer adjacent to a user's ear when worn by the user such that the headphone is acoustically open. A first microphone is coupled to one or more of the transducer and the support structure such that the first microphone is located in a substantially broadband acoustic null of the transducer. A processor is coupled to the headphone. The microphone receives sound pressure waves and outputs a related electronic signal to the processor. The processor uses the electronic signal to operate the transducer to reduce targeted sound pressure waves at the user's ear.

    Publication date: February 1, 2018
    Applicant: Bose Corporation
