  • Patent number: 10996940
Abstract: Technologies are described herein for a representational state transfer (“REST” or “RESTful”) over Intelligent Platform Management Interface (“IPMI”) interface for firmware to BMC communication and applications thereof. These applications include, but are not limited to, remote firmware configuration, firmware updates, peripheral device firmware updates, provision of management information such as system inventory data, cloning and batch migration of firmware configuration settings, and firmware integrity monitoring. This functionality can be provided in a way that enables communication between BMCs and firmware to utilize modern manageability interfaces while maintaining backward compatibility with previous IPMI implementations.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 9, 2019
Date of Patent: May 4, 2021
    Assignee: AMERICAN MEGATRENDS INTERNATIONAL, LLC
    Inventors: Oleksandr Podgorsky, Igor Kulchytskyy

  • Patent number: 7096294
Abstract: A method and an associated computer program product are provided for obtaining interrupt requests (IRQ) routing information in a more efficient and intuitive manner. In this regard, a graphical representation of the routing of a plurality of IRQs capable of being asserted by respective peripheral devices is constructed. The graphical representation may then be automatically converted into at least one source file containing at least some of the IRQ routing information organized in predefined manner. In this regard, at least one IRQ routing table may be constructed based upon the graphical representation of the IRQ routing.

  • Patent number: 6976188
Abstract: The present invention provides systems and methods for creating a customized POST program for use in a computing system. Specifically, the system of the present invention includes each of the routines for POST stored in different locations with associated calls for locating and running the routines. Each routine includes an instruction section containing editable data that indicates the sequence that the routine should be run in POST in relation to the other routines. The system further includes a POST program builder that builds a POST program that includes calls to each routine. The calls for each routine are stored in sequence in the POST program based on the information from the instruction segment associated with each routine.
