  • Patent number: 10404959
Abstract: Logging events in a media file, including: providing a logger tool to allow a user to view media in multiple ways and to capture and validate key events within the media file; and tracking and logging events in the media file by adding information to the media file including locations of bars and tone, slates, content, logos, commercial blacks, quality control issues, subtitles, and captions.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 17, 2016
Date of Patent: September 3, 2019
Assignees: SONY CORPORATION, SONY PICTURES ENTERTAINMENT INC.
Inventors: Jason Brahms, Ryan Kido, Oleksandr Zhukov, Oleg Sharov
  • Patent number: 10015463
Abstract: Comparing images, including: selecting a target image; selecting one or more search images; comparing the target image to a negative image corresponding to each search image to generate an image comparison score for each search image; and identifying the search image with the best image comparison score. Keywords include logging events and frame matching.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 9747521
Abstract: Systems and methods for image analysis and recognition are disclosed, in particular the methods for interest point description. An interest point and its surrounding area is broken into subareas, a frequency domain description of each area is created by applying discrete Fourier transform (DFT). Frequency domain features are than coded bitwise by comparing them to predefined thresholds. Subsequently, the present invention provides alternative or improved methods and data structures for interest point description that may reduce memory consumption and allow fast bitwise matching.

  • Patent number: 9112940
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for correlating sensor inputs with content stream intervals and selectively requesting and transmitting content streams. In one implementation, a processing device receives a content stream from a media capture device. The processing device correlates one or more chronological intervals of the content stream with one or more first inputs, the one or more first inputs originating from one or more sensors. The processing device processes the one or more first inputs to identify an incidence of one or more phenomena. Based on an identification of the incidence of the one or more phenomena, the processing device selects at least one of the one or more chronological intervals of the content stream that correspond to the one or more phenomena.

  • Patent number: 8457368
Abstract: A method for processing digital media is described. The method, in one example embodiment, includes identification of objects in a video stream by detecting, for each video frame, an object in the video frame and selectively associating the object with an object cluster. The method may further include comparing the object in the object cluster to a reference object and selectively associating object data of the reference object with all objects within the object cluster based on the comparing. The method may further include manually associating the object data of the reference object with all objects within the object duster having no associated reference object and populating a reference database with the reference object for the object cluster.
