    Abstract: A centrifugal separator device for concurrent separation of solid and/or liquid particles suspended in a gaseous media includes a rotor having a multiplicity of sedimentation members and which is mounted rotatably in a surrounding housing. An intake is provided for the gaseous medium to be cleaned, which leads to a central inlet shaft of the rotor. The housing has an outlet for cleaned gas, which has been freed of solid and/or liquid particles on passage through the sedimentation members in the rotor, and an outlet for the solid and/or liquid particles, which have been deposited on the sedimentation members and then transferred to a side wall of the housing by a centrifugal force. A nozzle is arranged upstream of the sedimentation members in order to supply a liquid to the sedimentation members.

    Abstract: The invention relates to devices and methods for cleaning centrifugal separators for concurrent and countercurrent separation of solid and/or liquid particles suspended in gaseous media. The device comprises a rotor (12) which is provided with a multiplicity of sedimentation members (14) and which is mounted rotatably in a surrounding housing (20). In concurrent separation, a flushing nozzle (36) is arranged upstream of the sedimentation members (14) in order to supply a cleaning liquid for flushing the sedimentation members clean. In countercurrent separation, the flushing nozzle is arranged upstream and/or downstream of the sedimentation members in order to supply cleaning liquid from outside and/or from inside the rotor for flushing the sedimentation members clean.

The disk elements (14) are held together by a first and a second end element (18, 20) at the ends of the stack of disk elements. A central portion of at least some of the guide elements (16) are interconnected by means of a cross-stay construction (36) in order to prevent deflection of the rods owing to the centrifugal force during rotation of the rotor unit (12).

Through a space in the rotor, which communicates with the radially outer part of the rotor separating chamber, liquid may either be supplied under pressure to the rotor or be discharged from the rotor for maintaining an interface layer formed in the separating chamber between separated light and heavy phases. A supply device and a discharge device are adapted to supply to the rotor and discharge from the rotor, respectively, only so much liquid as is required for said purpose.
