  • Publication number: 20180292427
Abstract: A sample container of patient sample material includes a sample container barcode containing patient-identifying information. The sample container barcode on the sample container is read, and a tubular reaction vessel is provided to a printer module configured to print a barcode directly onto a surface of the tubular reaction vessel. The printer module prints a barcode on the surface of the reaction vessel by a thermal printing method, and the barcode printed onto the reaction vessel is associated with the sample container barcode.

  • Publication number: 20180250970
Abstract: A printing module configured to print a label on a curved surface of an article includes an expandable printing mechanism configured to be expanded to an open configuration for receiving the article or contracted to a closed configuration placing the curved surface in an operative position with respect to a print head and an article moving assembly configured to grasp and hold the article and effect relative movement between the curved surface and the print head. The printing mechanism includes contact elements, such as rollers, that contact or otherwise engage the article when the printing mechanism is in the closed configuration and maintain the curved surface in the operative position with respect to the print head during relative movement between the curved surface and the print head.

  • Publication number: 20180192822
Abstract: This invention provides a portable combustion device that provides a cleaner combustion, provides a more efficient overall combustion through the use of a fan that directs a predetermined volume of airflow over the combustible fuel—typically wood or similar cellulose-based biological solids and provides a cooking surface that is a grill top. The combustion device has a combustion chamber into which the fuel source is placed for combustion. Mounted to the side of the combustion chamber is a housing that encloses the TEG, which generates an electrical output, based on a difference in temperature on opposing sides. Mounted onto the TEG housing and protruding into the combustion chamber through a small passageway is a heat-conducting probe and heat-conducting probe base unit.

  • Patent number: 5775825
Abstract: The invention protects a printer, scanner, copier and/or FAX machine against shock, particularly during shipping and the like. The system includes side covers, and a subsystem to attach them to a major chassis element. Preferably this subsystem omnidirectionally transfers shock between the covers and the chassis element, and includes a hand-in-glove fit of a portion of the chassis element into each cover, with a snap connector holding the chassis element and covers in the hand-in-glove fit. Also preferably a subsystem is included to attach the covers to a main structural assembly. This subsystem is integrally formed in the covers and main assembly, and takes up at least four degrees of freedom of motion between them.
