  • Patent number: 4907587
Abstract: The surgical correction is carried out with the aid of thermocoagulation of the cornea along the lines appropriately oriented with respect to the minimum refractive power meridian and to the distal points of the eyeball central optic zone. Two of such lines are essentially circular arcs, while two other lines are the sides of two angles the bisector of which is the minimum refractive power meridian. Provision is also made for a device for preliminary marking out of the eyeball, aimed at carrying out thermocoagulation along said lines. The device is in fact a cylinder-shaped housing which accommodates special elements adapted to be brought in contact with the corneal surface upon placing the housing on said surface in order to obtain the impressions of the lines along which thermocoagulation is then carried out.

  • Patent number: 4799478
Abstract: Device for coagulation of biological tissues, preferably the eye cornea has a casing accommodating a hollow rod having one end thereof supporting a heating element secured thereto and facing towards the eye cornea and having the other end thereof operatively connected, by means of a connecting member, with a shaft of an electric motor accommodated in the casing on which a stop for limiting movement of the hollow rod is mounted, the stop being in the form of a hollow fine adjustment screw having a dial gage in the form of a scale provided on the head of the hollow fine adjustment screw and an indicator mark made on the casing. A stop for limiting movement of the heating element is secured to a working end of the casing facing towards the eye cornea, the stop being in the form of a cantilever having a free end thereof supporting a rigid ring secured thereto coaxially with the heating element.
