  • Patent number: 9546904
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for increasing the accuracy of a spectrometer system corrects for light source quality, exposure time, distortion in y direction, distortion in x direction, temperature dependence, pixel alignment variability, dark pixels, bad pixels, pixel read noise, and pixel dark current noise. The method and apparatus produces an algorithm for optimizing spectral data and for measuring a sample within the spectrometer system using the optimization algorithm. The spectrometer apparatus comprises a composite external light source, a source light collector, an illumination light structuring component, a sample, a sample light collector, a spectrometer light structuring component, a light dispersing engine, photo detectors, an electrical signal converter, a data preprocessing unit, and a data analyzer.

  • Patent number: 7854705
Abstract: An instrument for verification of presence of image enhancing, contrasting agent in a biopsy sample which was obtained by imaging the lesion area with an imaging modality which is sensitive to the contrasting agent. In one embodiment of the invention, an optical spectrometer is used to analyze biopsy samples for the presence of gadolinium enhanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging contrasting agent which typically pools in breast tumors.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 16, 2004
Date of Patent: December 21, 2010
    Inventors: Olga Pawluczyk, Cameron Piron
  • Patent number: 7636158
Abstract: An optical coupling relay system has an imaging optical system having an object plane, an exit pupil and an image plane. An image analyzer has an image plane and an entrance pupil, and a detector is located in a detector plane and contains photosensitive material. An optical coupling relay couples the optical system to the image analyzer, for projecting the image produced by the imaging optical system into the image plane of the image analyzer and simultaneously for projecting the exit pupil of the imaging optical system into the entry pupil of the image analyzer.

  • Patent number: 7315371
Abstract: A spectrum analyzer for the simultaneous analysis of electromagnetic radiation delivered to it from either multiple sources or from a linear segment along a source surface, and arranged as either continuous or discrete set of points along a short piece of a straight line referred to herein as a slit. In one embodiment of the invention, the optical design of the dispersing part of the analyzer provides essentially stigmatic spots for any spectral band up to one octave wide in the spectral range of about 400 nm to about 2500 nm.
