Abstract: A handle and method for use with a manually operated implement including an elongated tubular frame (A) with a holder (B) at one end for receiving a shank portion of the implement against rotation and movement in and out with respect to the holder and for achieving a two-point control by the user through a slidable support (C) opposite the holder and an intermediate upright hand grip (D), a strap (E) carried by a support (C) being provided for encompassing an arm of the user just below the elbow facilitating the application of force upwardly and downwardly as well as in and out through the implement.

Abstract: A support assembly for growing tomato plants allows ready access to the plant during the various stages of growth by utilizing interchangeable parts including post sections having a tapered member (A) on a bottom end and a tapered socket (B) on the other end for joining the sections to form continuous posts having vertically spaced seating locations (C), and horizontal supports (D) having sockets (E) which fit securely onto post sections and spaced vertically to form modules that may be stacked in vertical relation and thereby added progressively to meet the needs engendered by growth of the plant and to permit ready access to the plant.

Abstract: Carding apparatus and method is disclosed wherein a plurality of lickerin rolls are provided for use with a combination card screen and plenum providing trash removal points so spaced as to provide, together with multiple carding locations, more even carding with less broken fibers and improved trash removal.

Abstract: The drawing illustrates a card screen comprising a fiber cleaning assembly positionable adjacent a lickerin roll of a carding machine. The fiber cleaning system has a number of spaced segments conforming generally to the configuration of the lickerin roll with fastening means for removably securing the spaced segments for varying the angular, as well as the proximity settings between the segments and the lickerin roll. The settings may also be varied between segments. A number of depending baffles are removably mounted beneath the spaced screen segments for controlling air flow and increasing waste extraction through the lickerin.

Abstract: A front screen is illustrated having a nose portion extending from beneath the cylinder between the cylinder and the doffer wherein orifice means are provided for directing air under pressure forwardly therefrom for avoiding collection of fibers on the side and corner areas of the nose of the screen.
