  • Patent number: 8335309
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for detecting the status of a telephone receiver (H) for a communication terminal (EG), wherein the telephone receiver (H) is equipped with a microphone (M) and with a loudspeaker (LS). The loudspeaker (LS) of the telephone receiver (H) is used to output a defined tone signal, and this tone signal is simultaneously picked up again by means of the microphone (M) of the telephone receiver (H). The tone signal picked up is analysed, with at least one value for at least one parameter of the tone signal picked up being ascertained, and the at least one value is used to determine the status of the telephone receiver (H).

  • Publication number: 20050249338
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for processing digitally stored sound sequences, such as holding music MOH (Music on Hold), voice sequences or signal tones, in a telecommunications system equipped with a CPU, a working memory for the CPU, and with a switching network. A program code and/or data of telecommunications subscribers is/are preferably stored in the working memory. The telecommunications system establishes connections to terminals via the switching network and outputs sound sequences via the switching network to at least one telecommunications terminal. The invention also relates to a telecommunications system that is equipped with means for carrying out said method. Both the novel method as well as the telecommunications system are characterized in that at least one portion of the working memory, which is assigned to the CPU, is used for storing the digitally stored sound sequences.
