  • Patent number: 11878103
Abstract: Various exemplary methods, systems, and devices for joint to pump elevation level user interfaces, autocalibration for joint elevation, and joint pressure estimation are provided. In general, an arthroscopic pump can be configured to estimate fluid pressure at a surgical site, e.g., at a joint, to provide an accurate indication of fluid pressure to users. In an exemplary embodiment, the fluid pressure estimation is based on a fluid pressure measurement at the pump that is adjusted at the pump, e.g., by a processor at the pump that executes instructions stored in a memory at the pump, using one or more control algorithms that adjust for one or more factors, such as pressure loss in tubing and sheath through which fluid flows between the pump and the surgical site and elevation difference between the pump and the surgical site.

  • Publication number: 20230181810
Abstract: In general, devices, systems, and methods for surgical device activation detection using current sensing are provided. In an exemplary embodiment, a surgical system includes a surgical pump, a detector, and a surgical device. The detector is configured to sense changes in electrical power in an AC power line from an AC power source to the surgical device to detect activation of the surgical device. In response to the detection activation, the pump can properly provide suction pressure to the surgical device to allow the surgical device to provide aspiration at a surgical site during performance of a surgical procedure.

  • Publication number: 20080267449
Abstract: A system comprising an imaging device adapted to capture images of a target object at multiple angles. The system also comprises storage coupled to the imaging device and adapted to store a generic model of the target object. The system further comprises processing logic coupled to the imaging device and adapted to perform an iterative process by which the generic model is modified in accordance with the target object. During each iteration of the iterative process, the processing logic obtains structural and textural information associated with at least one of the captured images and modifies the generic model with the structural and textural information. The processing logic displays the generic model.
