  • Publication number: 20140073805
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved process for manufacturing of esters of 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid (FD-CA-esters) by reacting 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid (FDCA) with one or more alcohols in the presence of a heterogeneous catalyst. The use of the heterogeneous catalyst, which may be a Bronsted or Lewis acid, allows for production of high yields of FDCA esters. Furthermore, the catalyst can conveniently be recycled after completion of the reaction.

  • Publication number: 20140017751
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for obtaining organic compounds from biomass, wherein the steps of gas stripping, adsorption from the gas phase, and catalytic reaction are coordinated with each other. The method according to the invention preferably comprises the steps of fermentation, gas stripping, adsorption, desorption, catalytic reaction, condensation, and decantation, which can proceed in parallel. The invention further relates to the coupling of adsorption, desorption, and catalytic reaction by using the same zeolite material for adsorption and catalytic reaction.

  • Patent number: 7077066
Abstract: The invention relates to an axle guide consisting of a fiber-synthetic material composite for guiding an axle in the running gear of a rail vehicle, in particular a high-speed rail vehicle. Said guide has two end sections (11, 11?) for connecting the guide (1) both to the axle and to the chassis (2) of the running gear in a manner resistant to torsion and a central section (12) located therebetween, which has a longitudinal axis (13) aligned with the direction of travel (X) and across-section that is at least partially flat in the vertical direction (Z). The guide (1) has at least one integrated flexural joint (14) with a vertical flexural axis (15) and enables a rotational degree of freedom, which protects the wheel beating from damaging flexural stresses, to be achieved simply without the need for an additional joint component.
