  • Patent number: 11898413
Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide an expanding and collapsing apparatus and methods of use. The apparatus includes a plurality of elements assembled together to form a ring structure about a longitudinal axis. The ring structure is operable to be moved between an expanded condition and a collapsed condition by movement of the plurality of elements. At least one set of structural elements are operable to move between the expanded condition and the collapsed condition by movement of a first end in an axial direction, and by movement of a second end in a radial dimension. In certain embodiments, the plurality of elements includes at least one set of structural elements extending longitudinally on the apparatus and operable to slide with respect to one another. Applications of the embodiments described herein include oilfield devices, including anti-extrusion rings, plugs, packers, locks, patching tools, connection systems, and variable diameter tools run in a wellbore.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 11339625
Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide a downhole tool (e.g., a retrievable bridge plug) that includes a sealing device and a load retention/equalization mechanism. The sealing device includes an elastomer seal component and an expansion device configured to radially expand outwardly to compress the elastomer seal component against a wellbore casing within which the downhole tool is located. The sealing device further includes lower and upper support barriers configured to radially expand outwardly against the wellbore. The sealing device also includes a seal energizing spring configured to maintain an initial setting force of the elastomer seal component against the wellbore casing.

  • Patent number: 7137518
Abstract: A telescopic crane, includes a substructure, a superstructure rotatably mounted onto the substructure, a counterweight and a telescoping boom structure which includes a main boom slewable about a luffing plane. The main boom has a boom base and at least one telescope section received in the boom base and displaceable between retracted and extended positions. At least one guy support is mounted to the boom structure and connected to a guy rope which extends substantially longitudinally in the direction of the boom structure. The guy support is oriented with respect to the luffing plane at an inclination which is so selected that a lateral load acting on the boom structure is partially or entirely received by the guying.

  • Publication number: 20040104192
Abstract: The invention relates to a telescopic boom for a vehicle crane, comprising a base housing (1), which may be mounted to an upper construction on the vehicle crane in a horizontal joint (2), at the lower end thereof and has further horizontal joint (3), to which a tipping cylinder, for inclination of the telescopic boom, which may be connected to the upper construction, may be connected and several telescopic stages (4-11), running either in each other or in the base housing (1), all of which may be telescoped by means of a telescoping device (12) directly connected thereto and which may be locked relative to each other in the telescoped position. One of the telescoping stages (4-11) is embodied from two part pieces (4a, b) may be locked together by stage (4), and both part pieces (4a, b) are pivoted together by means of a hinge.
