Patent number: 6401321Abstract: A grip such as a golf grip is applied to a handle by initially engaging it with a guide which embraces the handle. The guide is pushed down over the handle, causing teeth to be pushed outwardly and engage the mouth of the grip and its inner bore. Air is injected into the grip by a pump via a cap hole valve to cause the grip to expand. The grip is simultaneously pulled onto the handle by pulling the guide down the shaft. The guide is then removed by pulling a tab which causes a part to be torn off.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 1998Date of Patent: June 11, 2002Assignee: Burgoo Holdings LimitedInventors: John Patrick Carey, Oliver Hood

Patent number: 6396478Abstract: A computer pointing device includes a conventional computer mouse in combination with an ergonomic extension. The ergonomic extension is attached to the computer mouse for movement therewith and is positioned adjacent to the computer mouse for facilitating use of the mouse by a user in an ergonomically correct position. An adjustment mechanism enables the user to adjust the position of the computer mouse relative to the ergonomic extension for enabling use of the computer mouse and ergonomic extension by users having different size hands. In one embodiment the adjustment mechanism includes an extension arm fixed to the computer mouse; a slot in the ergonomic extension adapted to receive the extension arm; and a lock for releasably locking the extension arm in a desired position in the slot. In another embodiment, the ergonomic extension includes a cavity therebeneath for insertion of a rear portion of the computer mouse.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 2000Date of Patent: May 28, 2002Assignee: SoftView Computer Products Corp.Inventors: Bensen Kravtin, Oliver Hood

Patent number: 6032318Abstract: An apparatus for drying a hard floor comprises a frame and first and second rollers mounted in the frame for rotation about substantially parallel axes. The first roller has a continuous roll of absorbent sheet material mounted thereon whose free end is attached to the second roller such that the sheet material may be drawn from the first roller to become wound on the second roller. A part of the sheet material at the periphery of each roll is exposed for contact with the floor.Type: GrantFiled: May 11, 1998Date of Patent: March 7, 2000Inventors: Hugh Rogers McLaughlin, Oliver Hood, John Callaghan

Patent number: 5927542Abstract: A dispensing apparatus comprises a try-like housing having recesses in an upper surface each for accommodating an item to be dispense. A non-return mechanism is located in the housing adjacent to each recess and has a member movable between a first position wherein the member is retracted to a position substantially flush with the recess sidewall and a second position (as seen in the figure) wherein the member projects into the recess to prevent re-insertion of an item. The movable member is retained in the first position by an item accommodated in the recess and is spring-biased to assume the second position when the item is removed. A microswitch is responsive to the movement of the member to signal when the member moves from the first to the second position and thus when an item is removed from the recess.Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 1997Date of Patent: July 27, 1999Assignee: Johnston Research & DevelopmentInventors: Craig Johnston, Niall O'Sullivan, Oliver Hood

Patent number: 5409108Abstract: A storage apparatus for holding containers such as those in which compact discs or tape cassettes are stored. The storage device of this invention includes a bottom member, a top member that is spaced from the bottom member, and a pair of side wails used to couple the top member to the bottom member. A retaining member with a number of downwardly extending flexible fingers is attached to the bottom surface of the top member. The flexible fingers extend downward and are dimensioned so that the distance between the surface of the bottom member and the fingers is less than the height of the containers that the device is intended to store. The bottom member is formed with a main surface directed toward the rear of the device and is formed with small ribs and a smooth surface that slopes downwardly from the main surface toward the front edge of the device. The storage apparatus is dimensioned such that the front ends of the containers which it is designed to hold extend out in front of the apparatus.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 1993Date of Patent: April 25, 1995Assignee: Allsop, Inc.Inventors: Eivind Clausen, Oliver Hood
