Abstract: A field cover system to selectively cover, and uncover, a sports field or similar is described. The field cover system comprising a flexible resilient planar material to extend and cover the sports field, and to retract and uncover the sports field, a plurality of elongate support members, moveable to extend between a retracted position and an extended position, and one or more tensile members configured to, in use, support and/or attach to the cover and attach to the plurality of elongate support members. In the retracted position the plurality of elongate support members is located substantially below a surface level of the sports field, and in the extended position and with the tensile members attached to or supporting the cover, the elongate support members elevate the flexible resilient planar material above the sports field.

Abstract: A treatment of organic plant-based filler materials to prevent the filler materials from absorbing resin. The filler material is treated by soaking in a solution of resin blocker. The filler material is then moved from the resin blocker solution and dried before use with the resin.

Abstract: A method of fabricating a preformed core material by utilizing a particulate preform process. The particulate core material is combined with an adhesive binder and deposited upon a porous surface, through which air is drawn, having the desired preform shape. Once the adhesive sets the deposited layer of core material is removed from the porous surface and may be used as a core in a closed molding process. This method may also be used to fabricate a preformed laminate by depositing layers of fiber material before and/or after a core material is deposited.
