  • Publication number: 20250244211
Abstract: A device for cutting slices of a sample includes a sample holder configured to hold the sample and to move the sample in one or more directions, and a blade holder configured to move a blade in one or more directions to cut the sample. The device is configured to move the sample holder relatively to the blade holder in a first movement that includes a first phase in which the sample is cut by the blade, and move the sample holder relatively to the blade holder in a second movement that includes a retreat phase in which the sample holder is moved away from and/or to the blade. Both the first movement and the second movement are executed to cut the sample in a pre-defined direction. The device is configured to indicate whether the device is in the retreat phase.

  • Publication number: 20240328904
Abstract: A method for producing a section ribbon from a sample block includes producing a first part ribbon of the section ribbon from a first surface region of the sample block using a microtome comprising a blade. The first part ribbon has one or more first sections of the sample block. The method further includes producing a second part ribbon of the section ribbon from a second surface region of the sample block using the microtome comprising the blade. The second part ribbon has one or more second sections of the sample block. The second surface region is different from the first surface region. The method further includes retracting the sample block from the blade between the producing of the first part ribbon and the producing of the second part ribbon.

  • Patent number: 11764031
Abstract: The present invention concerns a method and a system for imaging at least a part of a specimen by means of two microscopy imaging methods, where a surface (11) of the specimen (10) is imaged by means of a first microscopy imaging method, where a replica (25) of the surface (11) to be imaged by means of the first microscopy imaging method is produced and this replica (25) is simultaneously imaged by means of a second microscopy imaging method, where the images produced by means of the first and the second microscopy imaging methods are overlaid at the correct scale.

  • Publication number: 20230221214
Abstract: A method is proposed for generating a series of ultra-thin sections of a microscopic sample (10), wherein the sections (11) are detached from the sample (10) using an ultramicrotome (100) and wherein the sections (11), which are detached from the sample (10) are caused to float on a liquid surface and are thereafter transferred onto a solid carrier element (20). For at least for some of the sections (11) detached from the sample (10) a position and an orientation on the solid carrier element (20) are determined by monitoring the placement of these sections (11) onto the solid carrier element (20) using a monitoring system (400) comprising a camera (410), obtaining monitoring data. A method (2000) for the three-dimensional reconstruction of a microscopic sample (10), a microtome system and a computer program are also part of the present invention.

  • Patent number: 11238626
Abstract: A method is proposed for generating a series of sections of a microscopic sample (10), in which the sections are detached from the sample (10) by means of a blade (21), collected, and placed onto a transfer device. A sequence in which the sections are detached from the sample is detected; detachment of the sections from the sample (10) and/or collection of the sections and/or placement of the sections onto the transfer device is monitored by means of one or several observation cameras, accompanied by the acquisition of moving-image data; the sections are tracked in the moving-image data; and positions of the sections on the transfer device are correlated, on the basis of the tracking in the moving-image data, with the sequence in which they were detached from the sample.

  • Publication number: 20180178479
Abstract: A counter-die, in particular for creasing paper, cardboard or corrugated cardboard, has at least one groove channel which is formed, in relation to the groove channel cross section, between two groove channel walls which are spaced apart from one another and form the groove channel. The groove channel walls in each case form and/or have an upper side which forms a contact and/or bearing surface for the material to be cut and/or creased. The counter-die is formed at least in regions, preferably at least in a part region of a groove channel wall which is assigned to the groove channel, of an elastic material, in particular in order to provide an upper side of at least one groove channel wall of the at least one groove channel, which upper side can be displaced at least in regions and springs back elastically.

  • Patent number: 9550308
Abstract: A device for perforating and/or fluting and/or punching for rotary presses and/or rotary printing presses has a rotation cylinder with a holding device that fixes a base plate of a flexible and dimensionally stable material to the rotation cylinder. Fixing rods are arranged at a distance from each other in the peripheral direction of the rotation cylinder, the rods holding a flexible tool support supporting at least one machining tool on the rotation cylinder such that tool support lies directly or indirectly on the base plate. The fixing rods are respectively formed from at least one multi-jointed hinge bar having a first hinge bar which holds the hinge bar on the rotation cylinder. A second hinge bar is articulated to the first hinge bar so that, when the hinge bars are superimposed and/or closed, the tool support is clamped and/or received between the bars.

  • Publication number: 20050022641
Abstract: Described is a trimming strip (50) for scoring cardboard material comprising a metal strip (10) on which are fixed two base strips (18) which extend in mutually parallel relationship and between which is provided a groove channel (36). Releasably fixed on the two base strips (18) is an adjusting profile element (34) which bridges over the groove channel (36). The trimming strip (50) uses a flat-surfaced metal strip (10) which is coated over its surface area with a bonding agent (52) by means of which the two base strips (18) are fixed on the flat-surfaced metal strip (10). The base strips (18) are extruded on to the metal strip (10) which is coated with the bonding agent (52). The adjusting profile element (34) is extruded on to the two base strips (18).
