Abstract: A glassware-breaking machine can be used to reduce the volume of glass waste and also to reduce disposal costs. The machine can be provided with a plurality of flaps to reduce noise. In order to reduce the risk of glassware becoming jammed, a conduit can be provided with an internal cross section that increases in size in a direction towards a glassware breaking device. The glassware-breaking device may be rotatably mounted within the machine and may have a container underneath it for collecting broken glass. The machine can be of compact construction.
